Sydney grew up in sunny San Diego, California before attending University of South Carolina in 2015 as a D1 student athlete. She obtained two master's degrees at the University of Chicago in Divinity and Economics and spent a year in Singapore conducting randomized control trials. She joined the Booth Behavioral Science group as a PhD student in 2025.
Sydney is interested in the intersections of psychology and economics, with specific focus on information, decision making, and beliefs. Her prior research included education and health-care decision-making and leveraged online experiments and RCT.
