Armaan Singh is entering Booth as a MD/MBA student, having completed 3 years of medical school at UChicago's Pritzker School of Medicine. Before Pritzker, he spent 1.5 years doing healthcare consulting at the Boston Consulting Group. After BCG, he worked on the growth strategy team at Oak Street Health. His time at Oak Street showed me how physicians can work with business and data science leaders to change the way we deliver care. It also solidified his goal to become a physician leader and represent the interests of patients and providers in the business of healthcare.

He plans to complete residency and then work at the cutting edge of care delivery.

Gary Wang worked as an analyst at Aledade, a company helping independent primary care practices and community health centers to succeed in value-based care. Then he matriculated to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he completed my first three years of medical school and led research focusing on alternative payment models and diabetes care innovations. He also became an inaugural Investment Fellow at Town Hall Ventures, a healthcare VC firm dedicated to investing in care solutions for vulnerable populations. These core experiences shaped his desire to become a physician-innovator working at the intersection of medicine, business, and policy to create a more equitable and effective healthcare system, particularly for underserved populations.

He plans to finish medical school and pursue residency training to become a primary care physician. Afterwards, he hopes to build a career that involves practicing medicine and leading healthcare systems transformation through industry and public sector work.

Before joining Booth, Sofia Yunez was a medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. What truly set her on the path towards a healthcare career was the profound realization that she had the ability to make a real change in the outcomes of peoples' quality of life. As a medical student, she has witnessed firsthand the direct impact that medical decisions and healthcare systems have on patients' well-being. This realization ignited a deep passion within her to not only advocate for patients but also to work towards systemic improvements that could enhance healthcare delivery and ultimately improve the lives of countless individuals. Pursuing an MBA at Booth is her path to merge my medical background with the skills and insights that can drive transformative change in healthcare management and innovation. She is thrilled by the opportunity to explore the dynamic intersection of healthcare and business, applying her medical knowledge and collaborating with passionate peers to develop innovative solutions.

After completing her MBA at Booth, her immediate plan is to complete an internal medicine residency. Beyond that, she is committed to medical entrepreneurship and innovation, with a strong focus on addressing health disparities.

Alonzo Darrius Jones has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. He graduated at Vanderbilt University with a BA in Classics/Medicine Health & Society and an MA in Social Determinants of Health. As a current medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, he is training in the pathological origin of diseases, proper interventional protocols, and ethical codes of conduct for patient treatment. Jones is especially interested in cost efficiency in hospitals. His recent research with Booth faculty member, Dr. Dan Adelman, a UChicago Medicine surgical attending, Dr. Kiran Turaga, and Booth students, Cagal Keceli and Dr. Hunter Witmer, focuses on a team satisfaction project.

His hope is that by improving the key parts of the healthcare system, including the clinical workforce and hospital administration, he will be able to help design an effective, efficient, and affordable healthcare system for patients.

Julia Ran’s academic career reflects her passion for medicine and as a leader. Ran graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in biology. While there, she was a teaching assistant under the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division. She also founded Tech Savvy Friends, an initiative that helped deliver tech literacy workshops to over 50 older adults in Chicago. After her undergraduate studies, she worked at Bridgeport Free Clinic, where she spearheaded an online, bilingual COVID-19 Community Q&A to serve over 1,000 Chinese-speaking community members.

Ran trained in anesthesiology and critical care at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Her hope is to combine medicine with hospital operations to improve workflow efficiency and quality of care in operative and ICU settings.

Sudhamsh (Sid) Tippireddy is interested in many different sides of healthcare, from healthcare鈥檚 clinical side to its scientific innovations, as well as entrepreneurship and venture capital opportunities. Tippireddy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Biology before embarking on his Medical Degree at the Pritzker School Of Medicine. As an undergraduate, Tippireddy worked at GWU Eleftherianos Research Laboratory as well as GWU School of Medicine Polter Research Laboratory.

By studying at Pritzker, he hopes to enter a career in healthcare/life sciences venture capital and healthcare administration. He hopes to pioneer technologies that will help increase access to care for marginalized communities.

Anna has worked in several care-providing and healthcare research roles.  Most notable is her work at NYU Winthrop Hospital during the pandemic.  Starting in March 2020 she worked as a researcher on ventilators, increasing ventilator capacity by 68% through 3D printing.  She also constructed a supply chain with startup companies and Walmart to prepare the hospital for a second wave of COVID-19.  Anna also has a long history of taking leadership roles within her class or peer group.  She was the 2017 Class President at Boston. At NYU Long Island, she helped to convince administration to remove restrictions on and create faculty-led research programs, which 50% of her class now participates in.

Anna is interested in quality improvement in healthcare 鈥� particularly decreasing unnecessary procedures and exams specifically by focusing on improving interdepartmental communication.  Her long-term goal is to become a hospital CEO or CMO, and focus on outcome-driven and financially efficiency guided by data analytics.

Kendall has been deeply involved in the UChicago and South Side community since his undergrad. In 2014 he co-founded UAID (United Against Inequities in Disease) aimed at addressing obesity health disparity in Woodlawn. He was also a member of UChicago Catalyst in 2016, in this role he delivered pro-bono consulting services to a local transitional living home, Prosperity House (8359 S Crandon Ave, Chicago IL), that sought to improve its organization and management, increase funding, and maintain its fiscal and legal standing. As a Pritzker medical student, he participated in Prtizker Tech, wherein helped host a 40-person two-day healthcare innovation pitch competition involving graduate and undergraduate students, mentors, and an interdisciplinary panel of judges in collaboration with the Polsky Center. He was a Polsky I-Corps Fellow shortly thereafter.

Kendall is passionate about combining his clinical training with his MBA studies to identify issues and pursue entrepreneurial solutions to address healthcare disparities. He considers himself a physician entrepreneur, and plans to reduce healthcare disparities by developing and commercializing healthcare technologies that improve medical education, foster patient engagement, and enhance quality of care by physicians.

Eleanor has extensive experience with healthcare delivery, research, and has a strong interest in policy. As an undergrad, she was an Urban Policy Research Intern with the Chicago Department of Public Health, where she analyzed performance and implementation of programs CDPH manages regarding violence prevention. She was also a Public Interest Fellow in the Office of Programmatic Services & Innovation of Cook County Health; in that role she developed programs, collaborated with stakeholders from multiple systems (e.g. housing, criminal justice) to reach patients across systems and address their complex social needs. In medical school, she was an intern with Covered California (California鈥檚 state-run health insurance marketplace), wherein she worked on health plan contract updates, including payment, network, and benefit design. She鈥檚 lead quality improvement projects for the San Francisco VA, and was the Director of Data and Quality for the Shelter Clinic at the University of California San Francisco.
Eleanor is determined to become a physician leader and apply an MBA framework to assess and improve clinical care. She wishes to continue her focus on innovations in healthcare delivery. In the long-term, she has set her sights on becoming an executive leader of a large payer, such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, to leverage its market power to drive change throughout the healthcare industry.
